Another Short Track Experience for Tim George Jr.; Ruby Tuesday Driver Sits 8th in Championship Points Standings

Tim George Jr. racked up more knowledge and experience in the second short track event on the schedule and another strong finish as the driver of the No. 2 Ruby Tuesday Toyota for Eddie Sharp Racing finished seventeenth in Sunday's Menard's 200 at the Toledo Speedway.

George Jr., who started the 200-lap race in the ninth starting position after qualifying was rained-out and the field was set by current car owner points, has now produced solid finishes in just 10 career ARCA RE/MAX Series starts.

Survival was the name of the game for this event as the race created sixteen caution periods for eighty six laps. The first, coming on lap five, when several cars made contact with one another, forcing George Jr. to take evasive maneuvers barely getting caught up with them, doing minor damage to the right front of the Ruby Tuesday No. 2. The ESR team quickly assessed the damage on pit road and sent the No. 2 Toyota back to the track.

The driver, focused and aggressive, overcame another obstacle when due to the earlier damage the hood popped up forcing him to pit road once again for the repairs on lap 85.

"I think the No. 2 team and I had a turning point this weekend." said George Jr. "Everything seemed to click, and part of that may be because I found a fire inside. I was able to use controlled aggression to run competitive lap times. I'm looking forward to Pocono where I can access this fire again, and hopefully this time with a better result on paper."

Jon Wolfe, who serves as George Jr.'s crew chief in 2009 on the No. 2 Ruby Tuesday Toyota for Eddie Sharp Racing, called the race on top of the pit box. "We were decent today," Wolfe said, "Tim did a great job for us. We fought the minor damage and the hood situation and picked up a points position."

Tim George Jr.'s seventeenth-place effort sent the No. 2 car to eighth in the ARCA RE/MAX series championship standings with a 100 point lead over the ninth place position and only thirty five markers out of seventh in the standings.
