Kentucky Speedway Promotes Wilson To Director Of Special Events And Client Services
FT. MITCHELL, KY. - Kentucky Speedway announces the promotion of Lisa Wilson to the newly created position of Director of Special Events and Client Services.
She will be responsible for the acquisition, development and production of all non-racing events at Kentucky Speedway including concerts, festivals, trade exhibitions and driving schools. Wilson will continue to be charged with seeking sponsorship for racing events.
"Our facility is a unique and versatile entertainment venue in addition to a first-class motorsports facility," Wilson said. "I look forward to expanding the scope of entertainment and business events we can offer to consumers and corporations in Kentucky, Ohio and Indiana."
Wilson has been the speedway's Director of Sales and Marketing since it opened its administrative offices in 1999. She came to Kentucky Speedway after an eight -year career as a senior sales and marketing executive with Atlanta Motor Speedway.
Kentucky Speedway, a 1.5-mile tri-oval and paved quarter-mile track, hosts NASCAR, Indy Racing League, USAC and ARCA racing events each summer. Several race events were accompanied by concerts by such entertainers as Brad Paisley, Joe Diffie, Joe Walsh and Blessid Union of Souls. More than 360,000 fans visited the speedway during the 2001 season, a 20 percent increase in attendance from its inaugural year.
