The two Ten10 Honda Racing India riders qualified 19th and 20th respectively for the first race in the Asia Production 250cc class, which sits between Underbone 150cc and Supersport 600cc categories.

Sethu rose as high as 16th from his starting position, before eventually crossing the chequered flag in 18th place. Shetty, by contrast, had a fraught ARRC debut, retiring from the race after completing just three laps.

Promising qualifying, disappointing race

The second race of the weekend should have been better for the duo following a strong qualifying performance at the MotoGP venue.

Sethu lined up 12th on the grid, while Shetty started the race a position behind in 13th - an impressive feat given it was only his maiden weekend in the continental championship.

However, hopes of a points finish were dashed on the opening lap when they both made poor starts, dropping back to 18th and 24th respectively.

Sethu recovered to 16th on the following tour, but slipped back into 18th position to end the weekend on a sour note.

Shetty’s comeback ride saw him recover from 24th to 20th, but not enough to bag a points finish.

The two Indian riders will get a chance to open their points account at the next round of the championship at the Bend Motorsport Park, Australia, which takes place from April 19-22.
