Ho-Pin Tung secured pole position for OAK Racing Team at Inje Speedium

In CN Prototype, Craft-Bamboo Racing claimed pole position.

The first Race grid for the second season of Asian Le Mans Series was decided this afternoon with Qualifying for tomorrow’s 3 Hours of Inje.

Ho-Pin Tung secured pole position for OAK Racing Team Total in their #1 Morgan-Judd with a fastest lap of 1:23.889 - setting a new lap record for Inje Speedium at the same time, and leading the LMP2 teams.

As expected the competition was unbelievably close and Eurasia Motorsport qualified in second place, Incredibly 0.198 behind OAK Racing Team Total – truly every millisecond counted. Richard Bradley set a fastest lap time of 1:24.087 in their #27 LM P2 Oreca Nissan on their final lap of Qualifying, giving the Qualifying session a very dramatic ending.

In CN Prototype, Craft-Bamboo Racing claimed pole position in CN Category after an early withdraws of ALT Wolf Asia, Mathias Beche who had a fastest lap time of 1:27:799 in their #77 LIGIER JS 53 EVO。

The GT teams all turned it up in Qualifying with Team AAI #90 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3 recording a 1:32.186 to qualify top. Only 0.152 seconds behind #90 was Team AAI #91 BMW Z4 clocked a 1:32.338, 0.337 seconds ahead of Team AAI third GT entry #92 BMW Z4 set their fastest lap time of 1:32.675. The #7 Team PYTHON crashed earlier in Qualifying and are unsure about their appearance in tomorrows Race.

With a warm up first thing in the morning and then tomorrow’s Race left to focus on, teams will now be readying themselves for the challenge. Will OAK Racing Team Total be able to kick-off their Asian Le Mans Series title defense in style? 3 Hours of Inje - tomorrow at 3pm.
