AUTODESK SPONSORS PDR ENTERPRISES MOTORSPORTS EFFORT

LEXINGTON, Ohio (August 7, 1998) - - PDR Enterprises, along with driver/co-owner Michael Todd David and anchor sponsor David Engineering, announced details of a new sponsorship alliance with Autodesk, Inc., the world's fourth largest PC software company, for PDR's 1998 KOOL/Toyota Atlantic Championship campaign. "Our Mechanical Desktop software has been a vital ingredient in the design of these race cars - both inside and out. Therefore, Autodesk's Mechanical Division is proud to sponsor PDR's effort in the 1998 KOOL/Toyota Atlantic Championship," said Bill Wallace, MCAD Marketing Manager. "The many auto part and race car manufacturer's who have come to rely upon our mechanical design products will surely recognize Autodesk's support of this industry as a natural fit."

PDR's co-owner and driver Michael Todd David celebrates his third year as an apprentice in the National Tooling & Machining Association (NTMA) where he has melded his knack for engineering into his racing career. His first hand knowledge of racing, and the guidance and training he receives under the NTMA apprenticeship program has provided opportunities to design and fabricate various spare parts used on the PDR/Water Joe Racing Ralt RT-41.

"For those teams competing in the Atlantic Series, one of the attractions to the series has been the freedom to design and build parts for their racing cars. Whether it's a suspension bracket, support brace or engine mount, fabricated spare parts must meet as high a degree of integrity as the factory originals." David explained. "The fuel injected, 16-valve, 1.6 liter Toyota 4A-GE engine generates in excess of 240 horsepower, 9,500 rpm's and speeds around160 mph. The difference between positions on the podium are frequently determined by fractions of a second. This alliance provides us access to a technology for improving both our reliability and performance."

"Precision and timing is the name of the game in this sport, that's where the NMTA apprenticeship has made a perfect blend with Michael's racing career," Mick Long, David Engineering's Strategic Business Development Manager explained. "It just made sense to capitalize on this combination and provide companies like Autodesk, their dealers, developers and business partners, a fresh approach to marketing. To affiliate with race team members who are actively involved in the day to day use of their products is a key component to this agreement. The ease of use, versatility, and 3D modeling capabilities of Autodesk's Mechanical Desktop software significantly contributes to the productive use of our resources in the design and development of components at both PDR and David Engineering. We're looking forward to helping Autodesk take full advantage of the opportunities our involvement with the CART circuit has to offer."
