Cleveland: Team Australia preview

NEW CHALLENGES AND TWICE THE WORK FOR TEAM AUSTRALIA ATLANTIC PAIR

Team Australia Atlantic drivers Simon Pagenaud and James Davison will be doing double duties and face a new challenge this weekend in Cleveland, Ohio as the Champ Car Atlantic Championship holds two rounds at the Burke Lakefront Airport temporary road course.

This weekend's race meeting will be the only time this season that the Champ Car Atlantic drivers and crew will encounter two rounds of the championship in the same weekend.

Cleveland will also host the first standing start to an Atlantic race since 1998, giving Pagenaud and Davison plenty to think about heading into this fifth and sixth rounds of the championship. The standing start procedure will be used in both races and both launches will be crucial heading into Cleveland's notoriously tight first corner.

Pagenaud currently lies third in the championship and the race for the $US2million prize for this year's champion. Pagenaud was looking good for his first victory of the season last weekend in Portland but his Team Australia Swift was damaged in a first corner incident. Pagenaud, however, will have a good opportunity to dimish the 29 point lead Germany's Andreas Wirth holds in the series this weekend with the two rounds held.
