Ricci Wraps Up Weekend with His Seventh Top-Ten Finish of the Season
Matt Lee ends his double-header with a 13th position finish

The second race of a double-header weekend at the Rexall Grand Prix of Edmonton ended with a 7th place finish for Giacomo Ricci and a 13th place finish for Matt Lee. Matt Lee had a good start to his race and was able to move up four places from his 17th position start almost immediately. Ricci did not have as strong of a start and dropped down to eighth position. After an early yellow flag, Ricci settled into seventh position and held a steady pace through to the end. Lee was 14th after the restart and after climbing to 13th position worked on holding off the #3 car of Wickens. Despite his efforts and potentially because of rear suspension damage, Matt was passed by Wickens. In the end, Matt Lee finished in 12th position and Giacomo Ricci finished in the sixth position due the disqualification of #17 car of Adrian Carrio.

Ricci's sixth place finish will keep him in fifth place in the Championship standings and third place in the Rookie of the Year competition. Giacomo has had five consecutive top-six finishes and has finished in the top ten in seven of the ten races already run this season.

"I did not have a great start for my second race today," said Ricci. "I lost a couple of positions right from the start and just wasn't able to compete against the cars that started around me. I seem to do well in qualifying when I have the new tires but once the tires started to go off I had a little more trouble. I was able to set a quick enough pace to keep Lacroix from overtaking me and hold on to seventh position. I'm now looking forward to San Jose and hopefully some better results."

"I began my race with a good standing start and was able to pick up a couple of positions right from the beginning," said Lee. "I had a good pace to begin with but later on in the race it started to go off a little bit. I ended up having a good battle with Wickens but in the end just wasn't able to hold him off. I want to thank the Conquest Team for all of the work that they did on my car and I'm looking forward to getting back to the States for our last two Championship races."

Steve Ragan, Conquest Racing Atlantic Team Manager

"We didn't end up having a great start to today's race," said Steve Ragan, Conquest Racing Atlantic Team Manager. "Matt was able to move up quickly and had a three way battle with Wickens and Heistands where he finally ended up losing his position to Wickens. Ricci set a pace in seventh position which was consistent but he wasn't able to compete for any better placements. Were looking forward to San Jose and with only two races left in the championship, compete to move Ricci up to fourth in the standings."
