Friday Provisional Qualifying

Airton Dare, #1 Banestado Lola - Qualified 14th:

"I don't know if it's something I am doing wrong, but we have really been struggling the last few races. I have no idea what's happening. We are fighting understeer right now. The car is better than the morning session, but we still have some work to do yet."

Guy Smith, #6 Swift Caravans Lola - Provisional Pole:

"Obviously I am pleased to be on the provisional pole. The car feels very good although as the track picks up grip, we've got some understeer. I'm confident we will be able to improve for qualifying tomorrow and hopefully keep pole position.

"We are carrying on from Chicago and Detroit and gradually getting our confidence as a team. I enjoy working with my engineer, Eric Cowdin, who joined me a few races ago and we have a good partnership now."
