(December 8, 2000 - Brentwood, California), Hylton Motorsports today announced they tested the number one 2001 contender in the Formula 3 South America series, premier driver Ianina Zanazzi. She could be first woman to challenge the male dominated Toyota Atlantic Championship Series.
Zanazzi, test drove the Toyota Powered Swift Chassis at Buttonwillow Race Park over a two day period and showed an impressive ability to adapt to change. "Ianina, performed very well considering this was the first time in Toyota Atlantic car...and we are positive her quick times will continue to get quicker" said Keith Hylton - President and Owner of Hylton Motorsports.
Introducing Zanazzi to Hylton was John Della Penna who has been keeping a close eye on her for a few years. " she is a very calculated driver and does not just jump into the car and go for it....she likes to make sure the set up is correct, and mentally she and the car are one, before she pushes herself and the equipment" express Della Penna.
Hytlon is confident that Ianina could easily become a contender for a Championship in Atlantic's with her experience and competitive nature. She has competed and won against current Atlantic drivers such as Martin Basso in the South America series. Zanazzi's racing background includes, Karting, Formula Hyundai, Formula Honda, Formula Renault, a Super Formula Renault National Championship in 1999 and a second place finish in the 2000 F3 series.
Currently Hylton Motorsports and Ianina Zanazzi are working together to develop a North American corporate sponsorship program which would sponsor Zanazzi move to the CART Series most competitive racing. Zanazzi's current Latin American sponsors include MasterCard, OCA, Telefonica, Layco, Audi Automilenio, unamuger.com and others
