The American top open-wheel development series is a championship Norbert Siedler is seriously considering for 2006 as the overall winner will be awarded with a 2 million US $ bonus to secure a ride in the Champ Car World Series. Three weeks before the brand new Cosworth-powered Champ Car Atlantic racer starts its official preseason testing programme the 23year old Austrian made an impressive debut in the old car at the Phoenix International Raceway in Arizona.

"I want to thank John Brooks and his BAR-Team for that great experience", said Siedler after achieving the best lap time on Thursday. "I didn't expect that the old car was already as good in quick corners and I guess that the new one will also benefit from the stronger Cosworth-engine. But even more important for me is the fact that I can graduate up to the Champ Car World Series just based on my own performance and that the Atlantic drivers are intensively watched on every single race weekend."

Team principal John Brooks, who was extremely impressed by Norberts natural speed, made it clear that the Austrian hopeful would be a perfect addition to Venezuelan Luis Schiavo, whom he had signed two weeks ago.
