BRIDGMAN OPENS CHAMP CAR ATLANTIC ACCOUNT IN PORTLAND

Portland, USA-18 June 2006: Tim Bridgman (Dunmow, Essex, UK) enjoyed a top-ten finish in race four of the Champ Car Atlantic Championship, the Trinity Carpet 100k at the Grand Prix of Portland. The Epson Team Jensen driver made up 10 places in the 40-lap race, with a strong start that saw him leap into 10th from his starting slot of 22nd.

The 21-year-old described how his weekend unfolded: "We started the weekend in a fairly strong position, taking P9 in first qualifying fairly easily so we were looking to move up the front for second qualifying," he said. "Unfortunately we didn't find as much time as other teams in the second qualifying and started the race P22. It was from then on just damage limitation and so to finish in the top ten is a sensible result. We have picked up some points and did a lot of overtaking in the race."

With two rounds coming up this weekend in Cleveland, Bridgman will have further opportunity to add to his points tally. "I am now looking forward to Cleveland where I am sure the No 2 Epson Car will be on form and running up the front again. Thankyou to everyone at the team, I am sure this has kickstarted our season and now the ball is rolling we can start building on our performance this weekend and get some strong points in the double-header event in a week."
