Ralts to Compete in C2 Class in 1998

HIGHLAND PARK, Ill., Aug. 15, 1998 - The KOOL /Toyota Atlantic Championship will be bringing back a separate "C2" class for the Ralt RT-40 and 41 chassis for the 1999 championship season.

"The series was approached by a group of current Ralt RT-40/41 owners who requested that we consider running the C2 category for these cars in 1999," said Vicki O'Connor, president of the Pro-Motion Agency, Ltd., which operates the series. "After meeting with these owners, and receiving their very constructive input, we are very happy to announce that the Ralt RT-40 and RT-41 chassis will be eligible to run in C2 category next year."

Performance restrictions to these cars are currently being studied and will be announced at a later date, O'Connor said.

The C2 category for these chassis will be structured as in the past with separate C2 championship points earned at each event. The C2 champion and the second- and third-place finishers in the C2 championship will be honored at the year-end KOOL /Toyota Atlantic Championship banquet, following the 1999 season.
