Road America: Conquest Racing Friday notes

Giacomo Ricci #18 Banca Italease / Lotto / Global / Mazda -- Cosworth

"I'm not too happy with my results today but I don't see that we are too far off," said Ricci. "I think it will be very important for us to qualify tomorrow in the top five. It is possible at this track to overtake your competition so I think if you have a decent qualifying session you can end up on the podium. The team did a good job of getting both of the cars prepared for this weekend and I hope I can go out and have a better qualifying result tomorrow for them."

Matt Lee #44 Integrated Structure / Mazda -- Cosworth

"I had a pretty good session today and started off running in second place early in the session," said Lee. "The car was running well, we put the new tires on and kept on building speed but I just couldn't find a draft. In the end, I wasn't able to get a faster lap time and we ended up seventh. The team did really well today and put together a great car so I think we'll be able to have good results tomorrow."

"We're happy to see both of the drivers in the top seven at today's provisional qualifying session," said Steve Ragan, Conquest Racing Team Manager. "Matt seems to be liking his set up and it seems to be working well for him. Ricci seems to be so close to the podium he just needs to get a little more comfortable with the track, calm down and he should be able to make it there. We look forward to seeing better qualifying sessions from both drivers tomorrow.
