POST RACE RELEASE ON TEAM PLATINUM FROM ROAD AMERICA

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

ELKHART LAKE, Wis. (August 17, 1997)

Anthony Lazzaro, driver for Team Platinum in the KOOL/Toyota Atlantic Championship Series, spun on the wet surface of the rain soaked Road America race course and watched his hopes, for winning the Championship, wash away.

"We finally found a good setup for the car" quoted a disappointed and wet Lazzaro. "I really thought we had a chance today for a podium finish."

Lazzaro was running third when he spun and stalled the car. "We got a great start, gained two positions and I was running really strong" continued Lazzaro. "I spun after the restart and then the car stalled. It was over."

Lazzaro was fifth, in the points, leading into this weekend's KOOL/Toyota Atlantic race. A strong finish in today's race would have helped close the gap between Lazzaro and Alex Barron, current series points leader. Provisional results from the race show Lazzaro finishing 27th.

Round 10 of the KOOL/Toyota Atlantic Championship series held at Road America in Wisconsin on August 17 will air on ESPN2, Saturday, August 23 at 12:30pm EST.

Lazzaro drives for Team Platinum which is sponsored by the Per4mer Racing Wheel manufacturer, Platinum Sound. He is also sponsored by BG Products and Budget Car Rental.

For information on Team Platinum, Anthony Lazzaro or Platinum Sound, contact Becky Baranouski of Race Management Group at (281) 855-7162.
