Walker Racing/Team Australia Gears Up For Another Successful Champ Car Atlantic Season For 2007

Indianapolis, IN (September 23, 2006) As the very successful 2006 Walker Racing/Team Australia Champ Car Atlantic season comes to an end this weekend at Elkhart Lake, the team keeps moving ahead with preparations for the 2007 season.

The team made the jump to run an Atlantic team last season, announcing the move at the Lexmark Indy 300 in Surfer's Paradise Australia. 2006 marked the first year for the team, and a very good season at that. Walker Racing/Team Australia comes into the final race with two very talented rookies, Frenchman rookie Simon Pagenaud who leads the championship by twelve points and newcomer rookie Australian Michael Patrizi who competed for the first time in an Atlantic car in Montreal, and came off with a finish in the top ten.

Nearing the completion of a remarkable first season, Walker Racing/ Team Australia is already taking steps for another successful year. The two car operation is looking to expand next season to a three car entry for 2007 and the search for driver talent has already begun.

"With the season coming to an end, we are already preparing for next season. We are currently creating a shortlist of drivers and will begin testing again soon. We have had a great first season in Atlantics and are ready to come on strong again for 2007 with a third entry," stated Walker Racing owner Derrick Walker.

After the Road America event, the team will head back to their Indy headquarters and continue to make plans. During the off-season Walker Racing/Team Australia will have three two day tests. They will test a number of talented drivers and then make further plans after that. For more information check www.walkerracing.com for more details.
