EU3000: GP Racing Pergusa race notes

The third round of the Euro 3000 series was held on the Pergusa race track this weekend. GP Racing leaves this Sicilian track with only one point but proved its competitiveness. Throughout the whole weekend, the Venetian team was in the leading positions of the classifications both in the free practice and qualifying session. Unfortunately, a problem with Roman Rusinov's suspension and Fabrizio Del Monte's collision during the first lap, ruined the end result which could have been positive.

Tancredi Pagiaro, Team Manager
"This race was a little sweet and sour. In one way, we didn't get the results we wanted but on the other hand we proved that we put up a good fight for the first leading positions. Roman had to retire due to a suspension problem while Fabrizio had to climb his way back up from the last positions due to a minor collision during the first lap. We now have to prove our potential during the next race on Monza's fast track."

Roman Rusinov
"Although the free practice and qualifying session went well, Sunday's race had other things in mind for us. I was in the second row on the starting grid but unfortunately the car suffered some irreparable damage to the suspension due to all the unexpected chicanes and the high kerbs that this difficult track holds. It was important for me to finish this race but much to my dismay, I had to retire after only 6 laps."

Fabrizio Del Monte
"A small error during the fastest lap at the qualifying session, cost me a few decimals and thus was 8th on the starting grid. After a good start, Bruni threw me on the grass while I was trying to overtake him .I got back on track in the 10th position and from that moment on, the only thing I had in mind, was to climb my way up again. With a lot of frustration and determination, I was able to recuperate a few positions and finished in 6th place .It's one point that cheers me up and gives me the strength to do my best at the next race in Monza."
