EU3000: Misano: Sunday race notes

FIRST VICTORY IN 3000 PRO SERIES FOR BONETTI (DRACO JUNIOR TEAM)

MISANO -- 3000 Pro Series fifth round of the season on Misano Circuit provided thrill since the start. First starting procedure was actually suspended when Timo Lienemann (Draco Junior Team), on grid first row with the second time, shut off his engine and thence had to take last position on the grid for second start. At the green it was Basil Shaabam (Team Carlin) to keep still while all the others were able to start properly.

Poleman Max Busnelli (Pro Motorsport) maintains first position, followed by Alessandro Bonetti (Draco Junior Team), leaping from fifth grid position, and by the two ADM Motorsport drivers, Fausto Ippoliti and Norbert Siedler who overtakes his team mate on fifth lap. On lap fifteen the unexpected event: Busnelli, while still in the lead, ends his race on the sand at Tramonto curve after a spin, so leaving Bonetti to manage his scant lead over Siedler to the chequered flag, with Ippoliti on third podium step. At the finish Ignazio Belluardo (Pro Motorsport) is fourth, followed by Olivier Tielemans (Scuderia Famà) and Marco Mocci (Cek Team). This second place in Misano allows Siedler to increase at ten points his lead over Busnelli while Bonetti jumps to third on overall standings, ahead of Mocci and Lienemann.

Next 3000 Pro Series race is scheduled after summer break, on August 27/28th at Lausitz Eurospeed in Germany.
