Immediately behind them, the two GP Racing drivers with Fabio Onidi ahead of his new team-mate, the rookie Fabrizio Crestani who, despite being unexperienced with the Lola, manages to set a good 1'40''217.

In the second free practice session there was a good fight at the top between the Italian Onidi (GP Racing) and Razia (Cerveza Sol): the championship leader was fastest in 1'39''142. The second Cerveza Sol driver, the French Nicolas Prost, was a good third after the seventh time in the first session, ahead of the second GP Racing driver Crestani, consistently improving, and TP Formula's driver Felipe Guimaraes.
