F.3000 TEST IN MAGIONE: NEW TRACK RECORD MARKED BY FABIO ONIDI (MINARDI / GP RACING)

The second day of Formula 3000 test in Magione ended with a new track record, marked by the rookie Fabio Onidi. The 20 years old driver from Milan, 2006 champion in the English Formula Renault Rookie championship and protagonist this year in the F. Renaukt Eurocup and NEC series, recorded an impressive time of 1'02"470. The other driver deployed by the Minardi / GP Racing team, Luiz Razia, who has taken part to the 2007 Euroseries 3000, was not far away.

The Sebastiani twins have been all day long in the top positions and were able to improuve yesterday lap times of more than one second, confirming the competitiveness of It Loox Racing Team which made its debut in the category on this occasion. Today Valentino was faster than the brother ending in third position while Niky was fifth.

Good performance also for the vice-champion of Italian Formula 3, Sicilian Efisio Marchese (Elk Motorsport) and for the 18 years ols Swiss Natacha Gachnang (Traini Corse), both at theitr first experience with F.3000.

The Brazilian Beretta Jr.. (Elk) has considerably improved its performance compared to yesterday, although he could only complete few laps due to a technical problem. He will remain in Magione tomorrow, as the Spanish Formula 3 champion, Maximo Cortes. Same nationality for another today protagonist, Juan Ramon Zapata, who was joined at the circuit by Ferrari F1 test driver, Marc Genè.

Davide Rigon, current champion and official tester of the 2008 car, continued, during the morning, to work on the new paddleshift that will be introduced for next season.

The last 2007 Formula 3000 event will now be the traditional Motorshow race on December, 7th.
