BRATT TOPS THE SHEETS IN THE SECOND PRACTICE FIVE DRIVERS IN LESS THAN THREE TENTHS
Five drivers in less than three tenths. This is the verdict of Vallelunga's second Free Practice Session, an outcome that boosts the hopes for a really close fight for the top spot, both in today's qualifying as in Sunday's races.
The drivers of the racing series organized by Enzo Coloni got on track in the morning, finding again a circuit with a poor grip, partly due to the low track temperature and partly because of the dirt brought on the asphalt by the Touring cars. Despites this, the times dropped considerably, and the teams managed to concentrate on setting up the cars for qualifying, wich everybody considers vital on a track where overtaking is very difficult.
At the end, the fastest driver of the lot was Will Bratt. The brit needed no more than yesterday's session to find the right pace though the Vallelunga's corners, and after 12 laps was able to stop the clocks at 1'24"480. Only 0.008 behind him was Fabrizio Crestani, confirming his good feeling with the track, and Fabio Onidi. The driver from Milan was very happy about the setup changes made by Fisichella Motorsport International to his car, wich allowed him to clinch a 1'24"546.
Behind them, Ben Hanley and Marco Bonanomi, with the italian trying various setup solutions without finding one that really suited to him.
A bit more far, but still only 8 tenths slower than the fastest time, Rodolfo Gonzalez, followed by a steadily improving Juan Carlos Sistos and by Francesco Dracone.
