Roldan Rodriguez puts his seal on race 2
The second Euroseries 3000 race was characterized by great emotions and overtakings. At the start a fantastic Roldan Rodriguez manages to get the lead recovering seven positions. The Brazilian Cerveza Sol - ELK Motorsport driver Luiz Razia has a good start, too, and from the fourth row he comes to the second position behind the GP Racing Spanish driver. The race 1 winner Fabio Onidi is forced to recover: at the end of the twentythree laps, after setting the fastest lap and briefly going off track due to a contact with an oppponent, he finishes third, thus conquering the second podium in two races. Behind him the second Cerveza Sol - ELK Motorsport driver Nicolas Prost, who did a regular and intelligent race.
Good fight for the points among Matteo Cozzari, Omar Leal and Fabio Beretta: in the end the Italian is forced to retire. At the eighteenth lap, to give marshalls the possibility to clear the track, safety car is deployed and all the gaps are cancelled. After the restart Rodriguez holds the lead, followed by Luiz Razia and Fabio Onidi.
After the first race weekend Fabio Onidi leads the standings with 16 points, followed by Roldan Rodriguez (14 points), Nicolas Prost and Luis Razia (10).
Roldan Rodriguez
"The start was very good. I'm happy for this win which I wasn't able to get
this morning. We had a pretty much perfect weekend considering that the
pole was just a hundredth of second off. I dedicate the victory to GP
Racing and in particular to Tancredi Pagiaro"
Luiz Razia
"I had a good start and I managed to recover several positions. In the end
I managed to keep Onidi behind me and I got my first podium of the season.
What a pity the safety car got on track!"
Fabio Onidi
"The start was terrible and I lost several positions. Then a contact sent
me off track and I slightly damaged the car. Unfortunately I managed to
come back on track and recover, also setting the fastest lap."
