Roberto Moreno wants an Auto GP test

Enzo Coloni and Roberto Moreno could soon meet again in a racing environment. The brazilian driver, who raced with the Italian team in Formula One in 1989, has expressed his will to test an Auto GP car.

"I always follow with great attention what Coloni is doing Moreno said because Enzo sees very far, he always managed to foresee the motorsport next trends. Also in this case, I have the feeling he's going the right way: Auto GP mixes great performances with a viable budget, and a huge prize money. In economically tough times like these, drivers should look at it with great interest".

After 12 years of racing in the USA, "Pupo" came back to Europe to follow the career of Lucas Foresti, a brazilian young gun who already got a podium finish (he was 2nd) in the GP3 opener in Barcelona. Moreno wants to give the Auto GP Lola-Zytek a try not just for fun, but also to evaluate it as a possible next step's for Foresti's career. "Judging from what the drivers say, the car should be really fast and fun to drive, with a very lively tail that has to be tamed with istinct and a talented right foot. To me it seems ideal for a driver that gets out of GP3 and wants to prepare for GP2, so I want to try it myself to see if my guess is right. Besides this, I must confess that I'm missing the track a bit after three years without racing, so I'd like to have a bit of fun and Auto GP seems the right car for that! Obiously if Enzo agrees".

From his side, the Auto GP boss always loved Moreno's talent, so for him it's just impossible to say no. In 1988, when Moreno was F3000 champion, Coloni offered him his first full F1 season for 1989. In Estoril, Roberto found the right way to say thanks, qualifying 15th in front of half of the F1 grid.21 years later, Coloni will be happy to have him again in one of his cars. "If Roberto wants to try our car, we will be happy to give him a chance to do it. At the end of the season we will find a suitable occasion, no doubt about it. From a driving standpoint, I'm sure he will cope well with the car. He is still fit, well trained, and he raced in IRL until 1997 so he still knows what speed is. I'm just curious to see his laptimes, I feel that he could even have the speed to put some young guns behind".
