Grosjean immediately on top
It was a perfect Auto GP debut for Romain Grosjean. The French driver, who raced in F.1 in 2009 with the Renault team, immediately found the right feeling with the car and posted the session fastest time with 2'05"617, a really good laptime considering that the track conditions are far from ideal and that Romain never drove the Auto GP Lola-Zytek before.
Behind him, Duncan Tappy and Celso Miguez kept the good momentum they showed in Imola, taking second and third place with a gap of respectively one and six tenths from Grosjean.
Also the Imola Race 2 winner, Carlos Iaconelli, had a good weekend start posting the 4th fastest laptime in front of Jonny Reid. The kiwi driver has been again among the quickest drivers in Free Practice, but he's hoping for some good luck in the races, something that he really missed so far. Behind Reid was the championship leader Piscopo, just one tenth ahead of Giorgio Pantano. Closing the top ten were Luca Filippi, Jan Charouz and Fabio Onidi.
Romain Grosjean: "I'm really happy to be back in a single seater car. It's very different from driving a GT, I really love all this downforce that allows you to go so quick throught the Eau Rouge! Obviously I'm happy of this fastest laptime, because I got the right feeling really quickly. The car is powerful and fun to drive, so I hope I will go on exactly like this!".
