The Autosport Basi Racing School, former operators of the Jim Russell Racing School, Mont-Tremblant, is one of the most respected racing schools of its kind in the world. "We are very enthusiastic about our involvement with the series," said Keith Blatz, Manager, Autosport Basi.
"As long time supporters of the Canadian Formula Ford series with our school's pro team, we know that we are entering a partnership with a very professional organization, and a fantastic series with a history of developing Canada's next generation of racing stars. We hope that Formula Ford drivers and their sponsors will benefit from our new Canadian Formula Ford Championship awards program."
Basi Racing School will provide $500, $300, $200 in award certificates to the top three finishers respectively at each of the series' eight events. Autosport Basi will also offer a $2,500 certificate (for use in any school related program) to the 2001 series champion. All certificates are transferable.
"It's great to have Autosport Basi on board as a series sponsor. They are a terrific group, with strong management and a first class race team." said Eric Berman, General Manager of the Canadian Formula Ford Championship.
"Basi's race seasoned instructors are dedicated to teaching and developing driving talent which has assisted in the advancement of so many Canadian drivers, which is precisely the raison d'etre for our Canadian Formula Ford Championship. We know that our racing program can target race fans and potential customers for the Basi racing school and their pro team. At the same time, all the series drivers will enjoy a valuable awards program from Autosport Basi in 2001."
Having completed its first season at the Autodrome St-Eustache, the Autosport Basi Racing School continues to meet and exceed all of the expectations of the men and women who make the decision to invest in their own personal betterment through intense driver training. The school offers the best tools to get the job done, with two types of Formula race cars, a proper training progression and the most developed programs.
The Canadian Formula Ford Championship is entering its 12th year as Canada's only national professional open wheel series. The 2001 season kicks off at Mosport International Raceway, as part of the Trans-Am weekend, May 18-21.
