EA "NASCAR Rumble" Kid's Challenge

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (Feb. 9, 2000) -- As the NASCAR season gears up for 2000, EA SPORTS builds momentum for its new arcade racing game, NASCARâ Rumble, which is now available in stores.
To celebrate the latest in a number of interactive NASCAR games, EA SPORTS is holding a contest in conjunction with the Daytona-area Wal-Mart stores. Children can register for a chance to play the NASCARâ Rumble game agains NASCAR drivers' children. The NASCARâ Rumble Kids Challenge is February19 from 7-9 p.m. and is hosted by EA SPORTS and the Daytona Wal-Mart on 1101 Beville Rd. NASCAR legend Ernie Irvan is scheduled to make a guest appearance at the event.
Hopeful contestants can look for a stand-up of reigning NASCAR champion Dale Jarrett to obtain an entry blank at one of the five local participating Wal-Mart stores from Jan. 26 to Feb. 14. Those stores participating include New Smyrna, Port Orange, Ormond Beach, and Deland as well as the Daytona Beach location. Potential challengers will then put their completed forms in the entry box under the EA SPORTS NASCARâ Rumble banner at the customer service desk. All of the entry blanks will be combined for the drawing of eight lucky winners on Feb. 14. Those chosen will be notified by phone to come in and pick up their free copy of the game.
Winners, along with an adult guest, are invited to the NASCARâ Rumble Kids Challenge on Feb. 19, where they get to compete against future NASCAR racers. Winning competitors will receive savings bonds, trophies and tickets to Speedweek events. Although it is a private event, the public is invited to view the game playing at the Daytona Wal-Mart store.
Motor Racing Outreach (MRO) and the children of NASCAR drivers, in conjunction with The Motorsports Decisions Group, Inc. have come together to make the NASCARâ Rumble Kids Challenge possible. Donations can be made to MRO, 5555 Concord Pkwy. S., Smith Tower, Ste. 405, Harrisburg, N.C. 28075.
