During a four-race period in August, the Etchells Camaro was virtually unstoppable, reaching four consecutive final rounds and "sweeping" the Autolite Nationals in Sonoma, California. (i.e., Claiming the top qualify ing position, winning the event and setting both ends of the track record.)
Currently their record stands at one victory, five final round appearances, three pole positions and third place in the season's points standings.
"The Etchells Racing team is honored to be allied with a company of the quality and caliber of Matco Tools," stated team owner Chuck Etchells. "We welcome them on board and look forward to a long and mutually successful relationship with Matco and all their distributors. Every member of this team is ready to work very hard on their behalf, as we do with all our sponsors, and reward them for their confidence. I think this will be the perfect marriage of winning talent with winning tools."
