FIREBIRD BRINGS PR & ADVERTISING IN-HOUSE
(Phoenix, AZ) April 4, 2006 -- Firebird International Raceway has hired Dwayne Harksell as the Marketing and Advertising Manager and Anna Hackett as the Marketing and Communications Manager to streamline all aspects of advertising and public relations at the racetrack located on the Gila River Indian Community in Chandler, Arizona.
Firebird Raceway has traditionally contracted public relations and advertising production to local agencies but has taken a step to personalize and develop strong relationships with its vendors, spectators and the community. Developing these positions in house to market the multi-purpose facility and develop community relations has been a long term objective of Vice President Franki Buckman. "Dwayne Harksell has years of experience and talent with print mediums and advertising design specific to events, we are lucky to have him. Anna Hackett has so much energy and enthusiasm; she could have fun in a paper bag." Buckman said of the new hires.
Harksell worked as the manager of Oasis Offset in Chandler prior to joining the team at Firebird. His background reaches beyond design and production as he is well versed as a manager of chaos. "Working towards a deadline, as with a national event, can make everyone a bit crazed." Harksell said about his passion for Firebird and its long calendar of events.
Prior to joining Firebird, Hackett worked in public relations and marketing for a local agency and for Quarles & Brady Law Firm. "One of my goals is for everyone to experience having their entire body flooded with the power of a Top Fuel Dragster, or Funny Car. You cannot get that by watching it on television" said Hackett.
