Smithfield, RI, April 2, 2001 - FosterGrant, the nations top manufacturer of popularly priced sunglasses, announced today that it has signed a multi-year endorsement and licensing agreement with 3-time NASCAR Winston Cup Champion Jeff Gordon. As part of the deal, Jeff Gordon will be featured in the latest series of the company's famous "Who's That Behind Those FosterGrants?" ad campaign, scheduled to break in spring `02. FosterGrant will also create a special line of FosterGrant sunglasses to be endorsed by Gordon, as well as a collection of sunglasses featuring Gordon's #24 and the famous Dupont #24 car colors. Products will be supported at thousands of major retailers with point-of-purchase displays and consumer sweepstakes, which will award winners a chance to attend NASCAR races.

"We're very excited about our partnership with Jeff Gordon," said John Agre, Executive Director for FosterGrant. "Jeff's position as one of NASCAR's biggest stars combined with FosterGrant's brand heritage and product expertise will allow us to reach millions of customers. In addition, Jeff brings a winning attitude to the brand that is very powerful."

"I am excited to join forces with FosterGrant. FosterGrant's position in the marketplace will allow us to reach NASCAR fans with great looking, high quality sunglasses at the right price. It's also an honor to be included in the same category as some of the other legendary spokespeople who have also been a part of this memorable campaign," said Jeff Gordon.

Jeff Gordon is the youngest driver in Winston Cup history to achieve 50 career wins. He is also the youngest driver to win the Daytona 500 twice and finished the 1999 season with seven victories becoming the first driver to win the most races for five straight years. Other significant accomplishments include winner of the 1998 NASCAR Winston Cup championship, first driver to win the Brickyard 400 twice, won the "Winston No Bull Five" four times; tied two modern era records with 13 wins in one season and four wins in a row, won a record $6,175,867 in regular season earnings and over $9 million in overall earnings.

The FosterGrant brand became synonymous with sunglasses in the 1960s with the launch of the famous "Who's that behind those FosterGrants?" advertising campaign. Recently named as one of the top 100 advertising campaigns of all time by Ad Age, the campaign featured top celebrities of the time, including Sophia Loren, Anthony Quinn, Raquel Welch, Woody Allen. The current campaign was re-launched in 1998 featuring supermodel Cindy Crawford.
