McAtee Promoted to Vice President of IMS Productions.

INDIANAPOLIS, Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2002 -- Buddy McAtee has been promoted to vice president and executive producer of IMS Productions, the broadcasting arm of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

"Buddy has done an excellent job as assistant vice president of IMS for broadcasting and business development," said Tony George, president and CEO of IMS. "I have asked him to concentrate on building our broadcast production services unit into one that reflects our corporate vision of international leadership in motorsports entertainment."

McAtee has been employed by the IMS group of companies since 1987, when he joined Wabash Valley Broadcasting. He joined IMS in 1998 to sell sponsorships and oversee television production.

"Buddy's new duties will be to build our television production services and the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Radio Network into the best in the business and to increase their value to the corporation," said Fred J. Nation, IMS executive vice president for communications. "We have great multimedia opportunities, utilizing our broadcasting partners at ABC/ESPN, the radio network and product development to tell the story of our three world-class events at IMS and the rapidly growing Indy Racing League. Buddy will continue his involvement in broadcast rights negotiations."

The Indianapolis Motor Speedway plays host to three of the world's largest sporting events: The Indianapolis 500 Mile Race; the Brickyard 400 NASCAR Winston Cup race and the United States Grand Prix Formula One race.

Among the projects for which McAtee has been responsible are the "Road to Indy" series, "Pit Pass" and "U.S. Grand Prix View" series, all broadcast on network television, and overseeing production of the races at IMS and in the IRL.

McAtee's background includes network and local television duties in news, sales, promotion, production and management. He is a 1978 graduate of Indiana University with a degree in telecommunications and forensic studies. He and his wife, Judy, live in Carmel, Ind., and have one daughter.
