SCCA promotes Howard Duncan

TOPEKA, Kan. (Aug. 29, 2003) -- Sports Car Club of America, Inc. announced today the promotion of Howard Duncan to Vice President of Program Development and Operations.

Duncan will oversee the operations and development of SCCA, Inc.'s competition program departments, including Club Racing, Performance Rally, Road Rally, Solo and Technical Services, as well as the SCCA Foundation and University.

"Howard has the knowledge and the skill sets to manage and service our current programs and members, while looking ahead to continue their growth and development," said SCCA President and CEO Steve Johnson. "Howard has been a contributor to the success of this company since day one, and this promotion formalizes a role that he has filled for the last two years.

"This position is another important part of our strategic plan to continue to be a worldwide motorsports leader."

Duncan, who has been with the company since December 1990, has held a variety of positions within the organization, including, most recently, Director of Program Development.

"There is a tremendous amount of opportunity for each of our current programs to excel operationally, as well as grow and develop into new products and activities for the benefit of our members," said Duncan. "I welcome the challenge and look forward to working with our staff and respective program boards to continue to offer the best grassroots motorsports programs in North America."

Duncan joined the SCCA as a member in 1981, and, along with wife Linda and son Geoff, has been active in all facets of competition since that time.

Duncan, originally from Tampa, Fla., relocated to Topeka in November 2002 after living in the Denver, Colo. area for 12 years.
