Canadian Driver Chris Green heads to Monterrey Mexico for Round 2 of the Barber Dodge Pro Series, racing after his dream to compete in the CHAMP Car World Series.
Montreal, Quebec Canada (March 19th, 2003) - Nineteen year old Chris Green is looking to deliver another strong finish in Round 2 of the Barber Dodge Pro Series to be held March 22nd at the Tecate Telmex Grand Prix of Monterrey.
Chris from Montreal, Quebec has made the major leap from Regional Champion in Formula Ford racing to the entry level professional race series of CHAMP car in 2003. Chris finished an impressive 5th out of 27 competitors in his debut Barber Dodge Pro Series race at St-Petersburg Florida earlier in February, driving a mature race beyond his years.
"I am really looking forward to Mexico, it will be a whole new experience for me, in terms of track and culture," said Chris Green. "I feel very confident of finishing well in Mexico, but I am going to work hard on the cars set-up so I can eliminate the front end push problem that I have been suffering with."
"The track in Mexico is fairly point and shoot, so it will be important for me to have my act together in terms of set up and driving the car to all its capabilities," Chris said. "I will be aiming for another strong top 5 finish in Mexico, and continue in the fight for the Rookie of the year status." He concluded
"It is a new track for the entire field in Barber Dodge Pro, and I think that the extra day of testing on the Thursday will be beneficial for Chris" said DAC STELVIO Chris Green Motorsports Racing team principle Ron Green.
The weekend gets underway for the Barber Dodge Pro Championship on Thursday, March 20 with a 30-minute testing session scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m., and an another 30-minute testing session slated to begin at 2:00 p.m. Friday's activities include practice from 8:45-9:15 a.m. and the first qualifying scheduled for 1:35-2:15 p.m. Race day begins with the final qualifying session from 9:05-9:45 a.m., and the green flag drops on the Tecate/Telmex Monterrey Grand Prix and the second round of the season at 3:45 p.m.
Live timing and scoring data will also be available for every session throughout the weekend and the season on the official web site of the Barber Dodge Pro Series Championship, www.barberdodge.com.
