Jonathan Kennard (Raikkonen Robertson Racing) claimed the team's second pole position of the weekend here in Belgium, while Carlin Motorsport's Maro Engel and Sam Bird again slotted into 2nd and 3rd on the grid for Round 14 of the British F3 International Series. Completing the lock out of the front row slots, Stephen Jelley and Atte Mustonen were next up, both driving for Raikkonen Robertson Racing. Series leader Marko Asmer (Hitech Racing) was only able to manage 7th, behind the resurgent Rodolfo Gonzalez in the T-Sport car.

Asmer was 4th, while just behind him Frankie Cheng (Performance Racing) was leading the National Class in 5th overall. That soon turned into the usual scrap between the Chinese driver and Sergio Perez (T-Sport), with the Mexican getting the upper hand in the early stages of the session. Meanwhile, Jelley had fought back and pushed Mustonen down a place. Asmer also slotted in a quick lap to edge the Finn down another place, while first John Martin (Alan Docking Racing) and then his team-mate Francesco Castellacci claimed a provisional 7th place. They were both demoted further when Salman Al Khalifa (T-Sport) leapt up the order to go 5th and to hold the lead in the National Class for a while. Rodolfo Gonzalez (T-Sport) was busy proving that his recent return to form is the real thing, and was now 3rd, though Walter Grubm
