Kerr narrowly misses Young Driver of the Year Award

London UK, 2001-12-02: Hinckley’s Robbie Kerr narrowly missed the 2001 McLaren Autosport BRDC Young Driver award which was presented to Steven Kane at the Glitzy Grosvenor House Hotel this evening.

Despite his unprecedented third nomination and dominating the British F3 Scholarship class in 2001 Robbie missed out.

“ Obviously I'm very disappointed not to be named as winner of the McLaren Autosport BRDC Young Driver, I offer my congratulations to Steven Kane.” Said Robbie.

“ I've got to get my head down and be a winner in 2002.” He continued“ Thanks to Autosport, the BRDC and McLaren Mercedes for making this one of the great opportunities for young drivers.”

“ I have been honoured to be a finalist.” Kerr concluded.

2002 will see Robbie contesting the British Formula 3 Championship with the highly respected Alan Docking Racing Team .
