F3 SEASON GETS UNDERWAY AT OULTON PARK

The weather wasn't on anyone's side at Oulton Park this Easter weekend and the T-Sport team will be glad to move on to the next round of the 2008 British F3 International Series and hopefully the type of weather that makes motorsport fun!

Sergio Perez has stepped up to the Championship Class this year after dominating the National Class in 2007. The fast Mexican took sixth place on the grid for the first of the two races after a good effort in qualifying. In session two he only managed to qualify 10th and was disappointed to realise that a tiny mistake that cost him two-tenths of a second was to be the difference between the right and the wrong end of the top ten.

Sergio dropped some places in race one but recovered to seventh when the two Red Bull drivers took each other off. Falling out of the top ten at the start of race two, the processional nature of the race compounded Sergio's problems and 13th place was all he could do.

Salman Al Khalifa is now in his second season with T-Sport and is eager to continue the good work he began last year, making steady improvements with each race. The Bahraini driver was disappointed that he didn't quite get a lap together in the first qualifying session at Oulton, settling for third place on the National Class grid. He did better in the next session, taking second place on the grid for race two, but he is looking for pole positions now and anything less is ultimately a disappointment to a driver with high standards. In race one he was running strongly in second place when a small error under braking for the Shell Hairpin left him beached and unable to rejoin the race. He had to wait until race two to get his points tally off to a good start. He drove a mature race, keeping it all together, and brought his car home in second place.

T-Sport new boy, Steven Guerrero, qualified fifth in the National Class for both of yesterday's races. The 18 year-old Columbian experienced his first ever race in the wet in the morning race, doing a great job until he made a small mistake and ran wide, losing a couple of spots. Sixth place in race one was to be his best result of the weekend though as in race two he lunged for a position on the last lap and spun off before being classified ninth in class.

"It's not really the start we had hoped for," said Team Principal, Russell Eacott. "We just didn't close out the results here so we're hoping for better at the next event. We need to work hard to eliminate mistakes to make sure we are collecting points on a regular basis."
