Kerr takes centre stage at Autosport International Show
Leicestershire's Robbie Kerr was the centre of attention at the Autosport International Show at the National Exhibition Centre on Friday, when he was presented with the British Formula 3 Scholarship Class trophy for 2001 and a cheque for £125,000.
"It is great to have the Trophy and the cheque" beamed a jubilant Robbie "The cheque has already been spent, as it will go towards my budget for the 2002 season".
After the presentation in front of hundreds of motorsport fans at the Autosport International Show, Kerr was joint guest of honour, with F3000 Champion Justin Wilson, at a celebratory lunch hosted by BRDC Chairman Martin Brundle
"The lunch was amazing I really didn't expect to be on the top table with Martin Brundle [ITV F1 commentator and ex Formula One driver] and David Richards [recently appointed BAR Formula One team boss]" explained Robbie, "It was a great honour".
The 2002 season will see the modest Hinckley resident take up the challenge of competing in the British F3 Championship class where he is one of the pre-season favourites.
