Ryan Lewis rounded off his British F3 season with a good sixth-place finish at Silverstone today. Prior to heading out to Spain to take part in two rounds of the Spanish F3 Championship, he wanted a good finish to the British season and that's what he got.

Ryan started from seventh place on the grid for the first of today's two races but bogged down at the start, dropping to tenth place. He set about taking back the places lost and was up to eighth by the end of the lap. Unfortunately a spin at Becketts on lap two put him right down to 18th place. With a lot of work to do, Ryan got his head down and began picking off the cars ahead. He was up to 12th by lap 14 but then had to hold position as the Safety Car came out, then during the mad dash at the restart he was involved in an incident with (Yelmer) Buurman and (Steven) Kane, ending his race.

Race Two had a much more successful outcome for the young Brit. Again starting from seventh on the grid this time around Ryan got a good start and gained a place. He stayed in sixth place throughout the processional second race, catching Dan Clarke but unable to pass. A decent haul of points was just what Ryan needed so he was pleased with the result.

"Obviously I'd rather finish first," said Ryan. "All in all though sixth place was the best we could hope for today. We certainly had the speed but with all the drama in the first race and then no drama at all in the second there were no opportunities to grab."

Ryan's next race is in just a few days time; he is taking part in the next two rounds of the Spanish F3 Championship at Jerez on 16 October.
