The final races of the 2006 British F3 International Series take place this weekend at the fast and furious Thruxton Circuit in Hampshire and James Walker will be going all out to end the season on a high.
There are testing restrictions in force at Thruxton due to stringent noise regulations, so the teams will go straight into qualifying on Saturday morning. This doesn't mean they go in blind though. Most of the teams took the opportunity to test at Thruxton during the summer and it was James who ended the test as the second fastest driver, just over a tenth of a second off the top spot held by Oliver Jarvis, and the quickest of the Mercedes runners.
You found a lot of pace from your car very quickly during the Thruxton test. Do you think you can match it this time out?
"There's no reason why not! The car felt really good at Thruxton and if we find the sweet spot again we'll be able to end the season in the best way possible. We struggled for pace at Silverstone last week and it's a mystery to us why that was the case, but I think we've got what it takes to do a good job at Thruxton. It's important for us to pick up our testing pace as quickly as possible so we are racing from a strong grid position."
Both 20-lap British F3 races take place this Sunday with Round 21 at 1130hrs and the season finale at 1515hrs.
