British Superbike Championship -- Rounds 7/8 -- Oulton Park -- 2nd/3rd May
Emmett Seventh in Qualifying

MonsterMob Ducati rider Sean Emmett overcame handling problems to end up qualifying in seventh position and as a result will start the weekend's two races of the THINK! British Superbike Championship at Oulton Park from the second row on the grid.

The 34 year old from Camberley spent time working with Crew Chief Phil Borley to iron out problems with the 999cc Ducati before prioritising a race set up for tomorrow's two eighteen lappers.

Currently lying third in the points standings, Emmett needs a pair of good results to maintain his championship bid and is hopeful of improving come race day:

"We are about half a second off where we need to be and if we can find that time, I'm sure we'll be up there challenging. Oulton Park is traditionally a good circuit for us and after all, it's not about qualifying, it's the race that matters" said Emmett.

Meanwhile, team mate Michael Laverty continued his good form to end up with his first front row of the season aboard the 749 MonsterMob Ducati.

The 22 year old Irishman followed up his history making debut 749 victory of last weekend at Snetterton with a superb performance as he bids to increase his championship lead in the British Supersport Championship.

"I'm happy as this will be the first time I've not handicapped myself with a bad qualifying performance. I've got a good race set up and I feel confident going into the race" said the Toomebridge rider.

Team owner Paul Bird was upbeat and commented on the possibility of inclement weather for the bank holiday Monday race.

"We struggled with the Superbike and it will be a case of scoring as many points as we can if it's dry. But if it's wet, then it's anyone's game and as far as we are concerned, I wouldn't mind if it snowed! Michael again did a brilliant job for us and he's getting better all the time, as indeed is the bike" said Bird.
