Loris Baz to continue in The British Superbike Championship
Rising young Yamaha Superstock star Loris Baz looks set to continue his impressive ride in the British Superbike Championship after agreeing to remain on Rob McElnea's Motorpoint Racing Yamaha YZF-R1 for the remainder of the BSB season. Baz impressed at the last round at Croft, having stepped in to replace injured rider Andrew Pitt, he adapted quickly to the new circuit and scored a hard fought seventh place finish in the first of the two races. The team heads to Silverstone this weekend were Baz will benefit as being one of the few riders to have experience of the track having raced there in the European Superstock 1000 championship this year on his R1.
As a result Baz will miss the upcoming Imola Superstock round; he will be replaced by MRS Team rider Gregory Black.
"I'm really excited to be able to continue with this fantastic experience," said Loris Baz. "This is a great opportunity gain more superbike experience as I hope to ride in superbike in the future. I really enjoyed the new Silverstone circuit when I rode there this year and can't wait to experience it on a superbike spec R1."
