FMX: Bartram wins 2003 title

Bartram Successfully Defends His IFMA Championship

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (December 6, 2003) - The IFMA Freestyle Motocross Series announced today that reigning champion 'Cowboy' Kenny Bartram clinched the 2003 IFMA Freestyle Motocross Presented by XM Satellite Radio championship, becoming the first rider in history to win back-to-back championships. Bartram clinched the title after winning both nights of competition at the San Diego round.

Bartram totaled 24 IFMA victories on the year, one short of his 2002 IFMA record of 25. Unfortunately Bartram's hopes of breaking the record at the final round in Kansas City could not be realized after suffering a season ending hip injury at the LG World Championships of FMX.

"It is great to be the first back-to-back IFMA Champion, I had a really great year in 2003," Bartram said after collecting his trophy. "I am looking forward to coming back strong in 2004."
