Fargo Reeling From the Rush of Freestyle Motocross!!!
FARGO, ND. (October 5, 2002) - The air outside is beginning to get cold but inside the Fargodome was nothing but pulse pounding excitement. The crowd at the Fargodome was treated to a first ever stop of the IFMA Freestyle Motocross and everyone left sharing the same adrenaline rush served up by the riders.
Friday night the crowd was quiet until the final where there was a awaking of the "fan" inside everyone. The course layout was different than the normal IFMA Freestyle layout with the course set up in a Nascar loop with a ramp to landing to a ramp to landing on the outsides and short straight-aways at each end. Kenny "the Cowboy" Bartram was not the best qualifier but he was the best for the night. Beau Bamburg secured the second spot with Drake McElroy rounding out the top three.
Saturday night the Fargodome was the place to be hands down. The crowd was full of intensity and loud screams. Ronnie "Who's your Daddy" Renner was slightly off his game tonight doing well enough to qualify for the main but having a lack luster final run him holding the seat for only one rider. Adam Jones was next for the Hot Seat and was also only about to stay for one rider as Robert "Lil' Dis" Distler took over. The excitement boiled over after Drake McElroy put a run together that put him comfortably in the "Hot Seat". Kenny "the Cowboy" Bartram was the last rider throwing together a great run but coming up short. Drake McElroy commented before Kenny's run "I can just sit back and watch Kenny go, all the pressure is on him now." The Cowboy cracked under the pressure and he knew it. Kenny said "I didn't (crack) Drake won so thanks for coming out."
Weekend Results Top Three Friday and Saturday nights: FRIDAY
Drake McElroy 92.7
Beau BamBurg 92.0
Kenny Bartram 91.7
SATURDAY
Kenny Bartram 91.7
Beau Bamburg 91.5
Drake McElroy 91.0
