Event: Oak Hollow Boat Drags, the 7th national event of the 11 event IHBA National Series.
Location: Oak Hollow Lake, Festival Park, High Point, North Carolina Located 40 miles north of Charlotte.
Date: July 28- July 29, 2001
Purse: Over $100,000 in cash and contingency
Classes: Pro Classes: Top Fuel Hydro, Top Alcohol Hydro, Top Alcohol Flat, Pro Mod, Pro Comp Eliminator, Pro Gas Flat. Eliminator Classes: Pro Eliminator, Top Eliminator, Modified Eliminator, Stock Eliminator, River Racer, Personal Watercraft.
Schedule: Saturday, July 28 Gates open at 8 a.m. Qualifying begins 10 a.m. Sunday, July 29 Gates open at 10 a.m. Eliminations begin at 12 p.m.
Tickets: Saturday, $12; Sunday, $15; Patrons Special Pass, $75, includes two day ticket, invitation to Driver's Party on Saturday night and Oak Hollow Boat Drags golf shirt.
All tickets include pit passes. Children 12 and under are free.
Television: Event telecast Speedvision, September 23rd and September 30th at 11:00 a.m. EST. Each show will be rebroadcast September 26th and October 3rd at 3:30 p.m. EST, respectively.
The International Hot Boat Association (IHBA) is the premier sanctioning association for drag boat racing in the United States. The IHBA is dedicated to producing top-level motor sports events across the country by sanctioning 16 events at the national and divisional levels. The 2001 IHBA national series is a eleven-event tour covering California, Arizona, Texas, Oklahoma, North Carolina, and Georgia, with a $1.5 million purse, reaching over 300,000 fans, and culminating with the crowning of the IHBA World Championship at Firebird International Raceway in November.
