Oak Hollow Boat Drags Blast Into North Carolina
(July 17, 2001) Austin, TX --- Oak Hollow Lake will be overflowing with excitement when the professional racers of the International Hot Boat Association take to the lake on July 28-29, 2001 for the Oak Hollow Boat Drags outside High Point, North Carolina. The 7th event of the eleven race IHBA National series will feature racers from all over the country as well as the top racers from the East coast vying for national points.
"Racing in High Point is one of the highlights of the season. The fans really support the event and the drivers and the conditions on Oak Hollow Lake are awesome. That allows us to make great runs and the crowd really reacts. Also, the level of competition in the professional classes is top of the line. There are racers here from all over the country and we will be going head to head with the best of the best," said John Haas, driver for the North Carolinian Roger Way Top Fuel Hydro entry.
"So far this season all the IHBA professional classes have all had some great performances. We had the first Top Fuel Hydro four-second pass in the history of drag boat racing in Red Bluff, California over Memorial Day weekend and we are expecting similar record setting performances for the Oak Hollow Boat Drags. Also, the Top Alcohol Hydro and Top Alcohol Flatbottom drivers have been stepping up the performance levels to new heights and are really putting on a good show," added Doug Fuqua, IHBA Chief Marketing Officer.
Tickets for the Oak Hollow Boat Drags can be purchased at Festival Park on Oak Hollow Lake on Saturday, July 28 for $12 and on Sunday, July 29 for $15. All tickets include pit passes. Children 12 and under are free. Special Oak Hollow Patron Tickets can be purchased for $75 and they include a two day event ticket, an invitation to the Driver's Party on Saturday Night, and an Oak Hollow Boat Drags golf shirt.
Event telecast Speedvision, September 23rd and September 30th at 11:00 a.m. EST. Each show will be rebroadcast September 26th and October 3rd at 3:30 p.m. EST, respectively.
