IHBA: Rescue team gain sponsor

April 16, 2001 (Austin, TX) --- The International Hot Boat Association (IHBA) and Rain Bird Corporation, two worldwide leaders in their respective industries announced today a series alliance that will provide all IHBA national events with a rescue team sponsored by Rain Bird. The Rain Bird Rescue Team will handle safety and rescue duties during IHBA national and select divisional events.

"Rain Bird is known as a superior irrigation company by its customers worldwide, and we plan on bringing our top level of performance to our sponsorship of the Rain Bird Rescue Team. The team's responsibilities during the events will hopefully be minimal, but when needed we plan on being associated with the best rescue team in motorsports. Our goal is to build brand equity by associating the Rain Bird name with leading organizations such as the International Hot Boat Association," said Don Clark, Regional Manager of Rain Bird.

With the Speedvision television package and growth of events this was the perfect time to bring someone on board to get the maximum amount of exposure for the Rescue Team. Having the Rain Bird Rescue Team at all the IHBA national events will give us the consistency we need to continue moving in the right direction," said Doug Fuqua, IHBA Chief Marketing Officer.

The Rain Bird Rescue Team will debut at the IHBA Lakefest 2001, April 27-29, 2001, at Firebird International Raceway in Chandler, Arizona.
