September 04, 2004 - Armagh, N. Ireland - Jennie-Lee Hermansson and Howard Davies delivered another steady and consistent performance on this year's AnswerCall Direct Ulster Rally, the sixth leg of the 2004 Kwik-Fit Pirelli British Rally Championship.

True to form, the weather was as unpredictable as Jennie-Lee was reliable. The dark clouds eventually gave way to rain on Friday night, which made tyre choice a difficult exercise, however, once the right decision had been made Jennie-Lee maximised her opportunities and made excellent progress through the field. At the end of Friday's Special Stages, Jennie-Lee and Howard were happy with their position, and looking forward to taking up the challenge again the next day.

Saturday meant an early start for everyone in the misty, damp conditions, as the rally moved North to the stages around Gortin. The weather hampered the tyre choice once again, but with the team choosing the safer options, combined with Jennie-Lee's composure and restraint through the murky hazards, the rewards were reflected in the fact that many of her competitors crashed out in spectacular fashion, as she succeeded where they failed and carried on to the next stage!!

By midday the weather had changed for the better, which led to encourage Jennie-Lee to push a bit harder to achieve her impressive 18th overall and 3rd in class for the registered BRC Production Cup competitors. This fantastic result also means that Jennie-Lee leads the BRC Production Cup by 14 points with two rallies to go and as they are both on her preferred gravel surface fingers crossed for a brilliant end to this inaugural season.

Team Quotes:

Jennie-Lee Hermansson: - "As part of my learning year I started to make my own notes on this rally, and on such a challenging event they were obviously OK!! Just as I am getting more comfortable on tarmac we are now heading for two gravel rallies, but actually I can't wait to be back on that surface and hope our progress continues. The team as ever were fantastic.

Will Hunt:- "Jennie-Lee rose to the occasion when the team asked her to do her own notes and mastered the process very well. She continues to learn with endless enthusiasm and it is a pleasure to work with her. It was never in the game plan to be leading the BRC Production Cup this year, but it just shows what good teamwork can do. We're all really looking forward to Trackrod".
