Reigning Scottish Rally Champion David Bogie and his co-driver Kevin Rae are the latest to register for the 2011 Dulux Trade MSA British Rally Championship.
The Scots crew, who come from Dumfries and Hawick respectively, are no strangers to the BRC, having contested the full series in 2009 as their prize for taking the 2008 Mitsubishi Evo Challenge. The twenty three year old finished a respectable ninth in the series, while Rae took seventh co-driver spot, the pair on the podium on the Pirelli and Ulster rallies.
They will campaign the same Mitsubishi Evo 9 that took them to successive Scottish Rally Championship victories in 2009 and 2010, but will be hoping for better form in this year's BRC, having retired from the Pirelli Rally last year with a holed radiator. The Cumbrian based event was the last time they were out in the British Championship, choosing to concentrate on defending their Scottish crown.
Bogie is currently in New Zealand and was unavailable for comment, but co-driver Rae said, "The car has been rebuilt over winter and the plan is to do the Snowman Rally as a pre-Sunseeker shakedown. We're really looking forward to it and we remember the Sunseeker from the Evo Challenge. It was a great event and an excellent choice for the opening round of the BRC."
