Pryce dominates class on WRC debut
Wales based teenager Osian Pryce impressed mightily on his World Rally Championship debut when the 17 year old student won his class on Wales Rally GB by a dominant margin, having led from the very first day! Osian and co-driver Iestyn Williams received support for the event from G & M Pryce, Sbardun Motorsport, Morris Plant Hire, Glyn Roberts Welding and Mid Wales Windows and Conservatories.
The rally began with stages that Osian was familiar with as the opening day saw the crews tackle six stages around Llangurig in Mid Wales. Despite tricky weather conditions the teenager returned to the mid day service with an amazing six minute lead in class! After changing the front drive shafts as a precaution Osian, who has taken five class podiums in his maiden year of British rallying, then extended his lead to over twelve minutes by the half way point in the rally. A spin on day two and a near miss with some spectators on the road on the final morning were the only dramas all weekend and the Aberangell resident returned to Cardiff for the ceremonial finish over 19 minutes ahead of his nearest class rival and an outstanding second in the two wheel drive category!
What a weekend! I really enjoyed this whole rally and still cannot believe the result. We drove for a finish but I was so comfortable in the car that we had very few moments but our winning margin is amazing! The car was faultless all weekend and I was surprised how good a condition the stages were in. I have to say a huge thank you to every one who supported me this weekend!
