Close call for BTCC grid at Silverstone.
Team PSP lead driver David Leslie hustled his much-improved PETRONAS-backed works Proton Impian through the qualifying sessions for Rounds 7 & 8 of the British Touring Car Championship in fine form, ending up just under 6/10ths of a second shy of pole position-- but still ended up on the seventh row of the grid.
David Leslie said:"That was just great! Team PSP has made a massive step forward for this weekend and the car feels fantastic. We're at least a second a lap quicker than before, thanks to the great work the guys have put in on the suspension settings. The car works much better now in corners, and we're still one of the fastest cars through the traps. The competition has clearly caught up the established front-runners here so no doubt there'll be fireworks from the hotter heads tomorrow. I'm going to try and stay out of trouble, let everyone else get tangled up, and go for a good points finish."
