NEWS FROM ROUNDS 15 AND 16 OF THE AUTO TRADER RAC TOURING CAR CHAMPIONSHIP AT SNETTERTON

HARDSHIP AT SNETTERTON

The Feature race claimed many top names as it victims in an accident-blighted race today. Despite the tough conditions, Paul Radisich drove his Peugeot 406 home to 10th place to capture a point.

The casualties included Esso Ultron Team Peugeot driver Tim Harvey who was joined by fellow competitors Menu (Renault), Cleland (Vauxhall), Warwick (Vauxhall), Kox (Honda) and Reid (Nissan) all of whom were forced to retire. Harvey, who was in eighth place, came into the pits with a cracked fuel rail, dashing any hopes of improving his race position.

Earlier in the day, the Sprint race had also claimed a Radisich as a victim when he spun at Riches and lodged his car on a kerb. He had to wait with his Peugeot until the marshals came an pushed the car back onto the track. Harvey meanwhile gained a number of places during the 17 lap race to finish in 12th place.

The BTCC circus will be setting up its show again this week for next weekend's race, which takes place at Thruxton circuit for rounds 17 and 18.
