After a successful test last week, Team PSP's drivers enjoyed an encouraging practice and qualifying session in the very hot and humid heatwave conditions. In the first race, Leslie was sidelined after the start with serious damage to the front suspension. Bennett picked up several places despite a loose bonnet and finished in the points with a fastest lap just 0.8 seconds slower than the race winner. In the second race with a novel evening start, Leslie had to start from the back of the Touring Car grid and worked up to 9th. Bennett started fast and worked up to 6th before pitting to fix a deranged front bumper. Just after the mandatory pitstop his engine stopped forcing his retirement.

David Leslie: "We didn't have a chance to show our real performance improvement but in the second race I was lapping faster than the poleman and notched up more points. The car really feels good now - we've learned a lot."

Phil Bennett: "I was pleased with my pace in the first outing and enjoyed dicing for 6th in the second race. I'm gutted I couldn't turn pace into points in both races."

Mike Carroll (race director): "Both drivers worked hard today and suffered too. We have found good race pace and look forward to Brands."

David Wong (team principal): "We're getting stronger and have built a good team with excellent teamwork."
